Carnauba Autospa introduces SMS - MotorTrader 22.08.2007

Carnauba Autospa has launched their proprietary Service Management System (SMS), an online comprehensive job-planning and management system which allows Carnauba Autospa to efficiently plan, track and manage the job flow as well as provides back end supports, such as stock monitoring, sale monitoring, accounting and customizable management reports.

Customers are given SIMM-embedded smart cards which contain their profiles, transaction histories and status of the current jobs. So with a simple point and click, staff will be able to access updates and change data while eliminating duplication and accuracy issues.

For internal quality control and tracking purposes, handheld devices, like PDAs, are used by staff to access the system and carry out quality checks and record job details. This in turn helps management to better assess workforce productivity.

“SMS automates all tasks performed by our Operations Department which is expected to reduce cycle time by 50% and reduce transaction costs by 60%. Furthermore, it creates a paperless environment which is in line with our mission to be environmentally-friendly,” said Kumar Prabakaran, Managing Director of Carnauba Autospa Sdn Bhd.

“We have aggressive expansion plans ahead. Thus SMS has been implemented to foster and support business activities within and beyond our organization as we grow. This is also in line with the government’s call for SMEs to utilize technology to boost business efficiency,” he continued, adding that the most beneficial factor of SMS is that it actually manages the staff by addressing administrative tasks on the floor so that customers can enjoy more valuable services
