Autospa Targets 300 member cars - The Star 12.05.2004

Carnauba Autospa Sdn Bhd, operator of a spa facility for vehicles, expects its membership base to almost double to 600 this year, managing director Kumar Prabakaran said.

“The company now has 305 member cars since it started operation in March last year with an initial investment of RM1.5 million.

“Membership is based on cars and not the owners as a person could own more that one car.

“We will bolster our promotional efforts in order to achieve the target’” Kumar said in Glenmarie recently.

Located at Temasya Industrial Estate in Glenmarie, Carnauba Autospa offers detailing and waxing services for vehicles and is the first of its kind in the country.

The services cover vacuum cleaning, a three step exterior polishing and waxing, as well as waxing of interior, engine and tyres and refurbishing of leather seats covers.

Carnauba Autospa has a waiting area for chauffeurs and a lounge for a ad hoc customers, fully-equipped with light refreshments and snacks as well as reading materials.

While waiting for their cars, owners can also surf Internet in the waiting rooms.

For members, a mini-theatre with audio equipment awaits them upstairs.

If you don’t fancy a movie, there are also two music rooms with high-end high-fi equipment for you to enjoy.

Kumar said beside individuals, Carnauba Autospa also fosters relationship with several companies.

Its corporate clients include AutoEurokar, distributor of Porshe and Saab vehicles, Competitive Supreme (Ssangyong and MG Rover), Daimler Chrysler Malaysia (Mercedez Benz), Motokar Co (Bufori) and Cycle & Carriage Automobiles (Peugeot)

“We are talking with several others on using our services’” he said.
