A new establishment for fastidious car owner has just been open in Temasya Industrial park, situated in the Glenmarie area. Here, owners and their beloved can expect first-class treatment. Just as you would sent yourself to be pampered at a spa, you can do the same for your baby too, at Carnauba Autospa.

The Carnauba Autospa is the brainchild of three owners of some very exotic cars who got together and decided that they had had enough of car-care that pampered not only the cars, but the owners as well.

While your cars are being lovingly cleaned and detailed, you can relax in the air-conditioned members lounge, watch your favorite movies on a large plasma screen or listen to your favorite music in a sound proof audio room. Rumour has it that Carnauba’s own little Cineplex cost close to RM500,000. A mini bar stocked with hot and cold drinks and snacks is also part of the set-up. The entire spa cost a whopping RM1.5 million to set up.

All cars are carefully washed by hand, using gentle shampoos and slow running water, as opposed to high-pressure water jets and harsh soaps that may damage the paintwork. After washing, the cars are dried, and waxed using a renowned products. A key ingredient is the wax from the carnauba tree. Applied by hand, the wax hardens into a protective layer that protects the paintwork. All polishing and waxing is done by hand, using special cloths and applicators. The true test of a good waxing job, according to Kumar Prabakaran, the owner, is the complete absence of swirl marks on the paintwork. With multiple coats of carnauba wax, the car takes on a beautiful sheen, and looks like it just came off an exhibition stand.

All the technicians doing the handiwork are specially trained in the processes. They are also taught how to use the many types of cleaners and waxes to best effect. In addition to exterior waxing, Carnauba Autospa also does detailing, which is the complete cleaning and caring of the interior of the car.
